Agya Koo’s arrogance ‘killed’ his career – Ola Michael

A former Public Relations Officer of the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) says the Kumawood actor’s arrogance caused his career to take a tailspin.

According to Ola Michael, producers started ignoring the actor because he became proud and displayed egotism.

Ola, who is also a movie producer, told Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM that Agya Koo became so arrogant that he sometimes gave producers timelines to finish their shoot.

According to him, failure to adhere to Agya Koo’s time meant he virtually walked from the shoot.

Recently, there was a debate after Agya Koo claimed that no one could match him in the industry, not even fellow actor Kwadwo Nkansah aka Lil Win. He made the remark at the launch of his Agya Koo TV app at the Accra Mall.

Commenting on the remarks, Ola said “Agya Koo gives producers two days to shoot a movie, he’ll not give you more than two days and then again he’ll tell you he doesn’t do night scenes because the light affects his eyes. So you are forced to use less than 48 hours to shoot a movie with Agya Koo. So it was pressure for every director.”

Ola stated further that, Agya Koo was simply in his own world and producers had to play by his rule.

“At that time, people were chasing him with big money and he can decide to travel a short time and come back and increase his rate because when he comes back, there will be lots of [film makers] waiting for him…,” he said.

Regretful Counselor Lutterodt apologizes to Yvonne Nelson

Popular radio and television relationship counselor, Reverend George Lutterodt has issued an apology to Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson for comments attributed to him in which he heaved verbal abuses.

Lutterodt, who in an interview on TV Africa’s Breakfast Live tagged the actress as a “disgraceful born one” rendered a heartfelt apology to the movie director and producer on same show this week.

Ghanaians and industry players descended on Counselor Lutterodt over comments to the actress that have been tagged as ‘’uncalled for’’.

Speaking on TV Africa, he said: “To Yvonne Nelson, I say a very big sorry. The wording of the write-up, the conversation and video didn’t really match up, however since it has been said and has denigrated your brand, I sincerely apologize.’’

He further added that he personally has no grudge against the actress and reiterated that he makes comments based on the issues which are been discussed.

“We didn’t sit here to say we are coming to mock Yvonne Nelson or talk about Yvonne, No! But usually and constantly when the issues come up and in the quest to addressing them those things come in line. So the headline that says “Ashawo” or ‘born one” isn’t what it is. If you play the video, that’s not what it is. However, once it was derogatory to Yvonne Nelson and has hurt her brand, I will want to use this same platform that was used, to apologize to her. Yvonne Nelson, I am sorry.’’

“Every statement that has been said, even if it wasn’t what the write-up says, I retract it.” He ended.
