‘Be rude to my face if you’re a man’ – Muntaka to Ken Agyapong

Kennedy Agyapong

The Minority Chief Whip, Muntaka Mubarak has not taken kindly to being called “dumb” by the Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong.

Muntaka Mubarak dared his fellow MP to be rude to his face “if he thinks is a man.”

Speaking on Eyewitness News, the Asawase MP said: “if he [Kennedy Agyapong] thinks is a man, he should just meet me on the floor of Parliament and try to be rude towards me, and the whole world will hear us.â€

“I grew up in the jungle where every day we wrestle. I can’t come to Accra and be afraid of anybody. Not even somebody like Hon. [Kennedy Agyapong]

“You know how we behave in the Zongo… you don’t cheat but you don’t allow anybody to cheat you. You don’t start the fight but you don’t allow anybody to bring it to you and walk away.

Ken is very poor

Muntaka Mubarak further derided his fellow MP describing him as a man only defined by his money.

This ultimately meant Kennedy Agyapong was empty, the Muntaka Mubarak added.

Minority Chief Whip, Muntaka Mubarak

“That’s a rude person because everything he has is about money. When all you have on this earth is money, then you are very poor. He is a very poor person, but he doesn’t know… Walk to the street and ask the ordinary person whether they see him with any value. All he has his only money. He has nothing.”

Suspend him from the House

Muntaka Mubarak also called for the Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, to be suspended from Parliament for the rest of 2018.

The Asawase MP believe Kennedy Agyapong’s recent conduct was unfit for someone in the legislature.

“You have the right to make your views in the strongest terms that you can, but you don’t have the right to be insulting people all around, he said on Eyewitness News.

These remarks came after Kennedy Agyapong called Muntaka Mubarak “dumb for referring him to Parliament’s Privileges Committee over purported insults on Friday.

Before Friday’s comments, Kennedy Agyapong is reported to have described the House as “useless for having Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu as its Majority leader on Accra-based Net2 TV, which belongs to the Assin Central MP.

These comments compelled Muntaka Mubarak to file a motion to refer Kennedy Agyapong to Parliament’s Privileges Committee.

Parliamentary records show that the committee will consider the referral next Tuesday, June 26.
